Investigations
Pro24c prevents catheter encrustation in-vitro
demonstrated by flow rate through catheter
- Assay
- Catheters in synthetic urine, 10 catheters per group
- Group 1 control, no Pro24c added, Group 2 = Pro24c 1mmol, Group 3 = Pro24 4mmol
- Measuring flow time of 150ml of WFI through catheter at day 0, 2, 4, 6, 8
- Results
- Group 1, control, showed a significant reduced flow rate of + 4 seconds = +30%
- Group 2, low flow reduction, marginal effects
- Group 3, no reduction of flow rate, no encrustation
Pro24c shows promising efficacy in-vivo
demonstrated by parameters in urine after a single dose administration, n=16
- Clinical investigation
- Healthy volunteers, single administration of Pro24c at day 0
- Measured metabolites in urine at day 0 and day 3
- Reporting on potential adverse events
- Conclusion
- Citrate excretion increased by 20%
- Magnesium excretion increased by 33%
- No adverse events reported
